Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQs)
The Frequently Asked Questions
page is designed to help you find answers on this site to some commonly-asked questions.
The most basic question is: What is home
schooling / home education? Well, first, it is NOT school at home. Second it
is NOT Correspondence School. Third, it is NOT supplementary tutoring. Fourth it
is NOT where students are enrolled in a school but exempted from attendance for
disciplinary and similar reasons. All of these groups have some things in common
with home schoolers, and may find help on this site.
However, our target is New Zealand parents
/ guardians teaching their children (or possibly arranging private tutoring) without
having them enrolled in a school. If the children are between six and 16, then the
parents must get an exemption from enrollment.
